The Coventry Friargate masterplan consists of three million square feet of mix use accommodation on a derelict site in the city centre next to the station. This includes office, hotel, residential and retail uses. A new station square provides the city with a new front door. The key idea is to create a direct pedestrian connection to Greyfriars Green so that the railway station forms part of the city centre for the first time in its history.
