Kent is the United Kingdom’s front door. It is the first county that has benefited from investment in high speed rail. This is transforming its economy. In order to capitalise on investment in infrastructure, Kent County Council initiated a programme of environmental transformation to enhance quality of life, based on the idea of Kent as the twenty first century garden of England. The strategy proposes new environmental corridors linking exceptional landscapes, reinvention of the rural economy, and investment in the county’s coastal towns.
