Thames Estuary Parklands is an environmental, urban and landscape strategy that aims to transform the estuary’s quality of life as the basis for its economic future. It is the largest strategic growth project in Europe. Initiated independently by Sir Terry Farrell in 2002, this project became a formal UK Government commission in 2008. The vision has been supported by government, London and all local authorities in the region as the way forward ever since.
